If you are a member of a federally recognized tribe with a tribal membership card and a CDIB card then you may be eligible for an FHA 184 loan or Native American Loan. As with all Federally Funded loan programs, there are minimum income requirements for the loan and eligibility will depend on many different factors, which we won’t get into in this article because every person and their financial situation is different. The greatest benefit is a lower down payment over a standard FHA loan product. All of the lenders that we recommend offer FHA 184 loan products. There is a window of unavailability during the 3-4 quarter of the year when the federal program is approved again for the next year’s program term. Typically between late September and October. Not sure if your tribe is Federally recognized? We’ve attached a list below for review.
